The stage is set for the best seminar programme yet

From 15-18 May 2018, Interclean Amsterdam 2018 will throw open its doors to welcome cleaning and hygiene industry professionals to the largest and most international event in the world. Cleaning Matters takes a look at what visitors can expect from the event's comprehensive seminar programme

Bringing together more than 30,000 decision makers from more than 130 countries, Interclean Amsterdam offers visitors a chance to gain a comprehensive global overview of the professional cleaning and hygiene industry – and the 2018 edition is set to be no different. Set across 12 display halls, Interclean Amsterdam will feature more than 850 exhibitors from more than 40 countries. They will demonstrate the latest innovations in professional cleaning and hygiene products and services – effectively showcasing the future of the industry.

An exciting programme of seminars and events

Running alongside the exhibits will be a comprehensive seminar schedule, providing insight on the latest trends and developments. An outstanding line-up of expert speakers will be sharing their knowledge in varied sessions and events across a number of stages.

The Interclean Stage

The Interclean Stage (located in the Elicium Ballroom) is central to the knowledge sharing and networking opportunities available. A range of free sessions will explore innovation, new regulations and standards, and participation in the growing circular economy.

The Interclean Stage will also host the Healthcare Cleaning Satellite Symposium (17 May).

The Innovation LAB (Hall 8)

A special ceremony acknowledging outstanding achievement opens Interclean, with the presentation of the Amsterdam Innovation Award (15 May).

Free sessions will also give visitors the chance to explore products, services and concepts in greater depth. Vincent Everts delivers a seminar on the impact of new technologies on existing markets, entitled: Trendwatcher: Which Developments Should We Look Out For? (15 and 16 May).

In Evolution of Fragrance from Inside to Outside the Washroom (16 May), Paul Wonnacott, managing director and president of Vectair Systems, highlights how advances in scent technology are being used to deliver an improved user experience.

New Dynamics of Selling in the Digital World (16 May) is a seminar from Roberta Donzelli – UK senior vendor manager at Amazon. Roberta considers key questions, including: how must you think differently about marketing to succeed in the new digital age?

The Facility Inspiration Event (16 May) is a special day of events dedicated to helping facilities managers improve their performance; and the Robot Arena has live demonstrations of the latest robot cleaners taking on a series of challenges.

The Zero Waste LAB (Hall 7)

Waste is the essential raw material of The Zero Waste LAB. A workshop – Anatomy of the Waste Bin – runs every day, giving visitors a hands-on opportunity to discover how to reduce their waste footprint.

Out of the box thinker, André J. Vonk – managing director of ECMR – will also present the ECMR Sustainable Winner Award 2017 to the manufacturer that had the biggest impact in 2017 from recycling machines and materials to create new products (17 May).

The Healthcare Cleaning LAB

The Healthcare Cleaning LAB offers a dedicated platform for sharing best practice and innovation. A realistic hospital room mock-up will host live product and technique demonstrations daily.

Illuminating seminar sessions feature industry leaders such as, Ecolab (15 -17 May) and Diversey (16 and 17 May). While Klaus Zscherpe – director for dispensing and disposable systems at Ophardt – discusses his commitment to breaking the chain of infection (15 and 18 May).

The Healthcare Forum

A unique Healthcare Cleaning Forum (16 May), organised together with WHO and infection prevention specialists, seeks to raise the profile of cleaning and disinfection in reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and improving patient safety

A range of sessions aims to bring healthcare and cleaning closer together. Seminars cover HAIs, education, staff-safety, the newest research and the challenges of reducing antibiotic use.

A €30 fee will be charged for this full-day programme.

Mixing business with pleasure

As well as hosting halls full of exhibitors, Interclean Amsterdam 2018 will feature new areas designed for visitors to rest, relax and even network. These include the Refresh lounge, where attendees will find beds for taking a quick break and easy access to healthy food; and the Lucart Beer Garden, where the name speaks for itself...

Interclean Amsterdam 2018 is all set to be the biggest and best edition of the show yet – and the ideal place to discover the innovations that will become the future of the industry.
