 Touchless cleaning improves safety and hygiene

 Electric benefits

 Pay less tax with Nilfisk water efficient scrubber dryers
The government is encouraging the use of green technology by setting up tax incentive schemes for companies who purchase qualifying equipment. The initiative encourages the use of environmentally friendly cleaning machines and in particular water efficient scrubber dryers.

 Celebrating the crapper
Thomas Crapper, the Victorian plumber and sanitaryware manufacturer whose name has become synonymous with the water closet, is commemorated in a new edition of Flushed With Pride: The Story of Thomas Crapper to mark the centenary of his death on 27 January 1910.

 BCC's tendering tips for the 2012 Games
The 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games will use a mixture of new, existing and temporary venues, with their cleaning, facilities management and waste disposal having a broad requirement across the disparate venues. Over 50,000 contracts will be procured through the London 2012 supply chain and related work. The cleaning budget for the games is expected to be approximately £20 million - the largest peacetime cleaning and catering operation in history.


 FM market set for change
The Facilities Management market will continue to see a dramatic shift toward multi-service provision in 2010, according to a new market report from MTW Research, with FM clients following ‘flight to price’ procurement strategies to reduce outsourcing costs. The report indicates that client loyalty in the FM market is being steadily eroded by price competition in 2010, with many of the commodity sectors within the market, such as property maintenance, office support etc, becoming increasingly price sensitive.

 One day green cleaning course (south east)
As part of Business Link South East’s Enviroskills training portfolio, Ecosys will be running a one-day 'Green Cleaning' course, accredited to Level 3, on Thursday 11th February 2010. Thanks to EU funding there is a subsidy of £50 available.
